About us

We're Julian and Deb and we live in a traditional 1930's semi in a leafy suburb of Wolverhampton, UK. This blog describes our exploits as we strive to lower our utility bills, lessen our impact on the environment, generally 'stick it to the man' and ultimately devalue our house by knocking great lumps out of it. Julian is a graduate  Electrical/Electronic Engineer, a registered electrician and a one-time solar pv system designer and installer. Deb is a Chemistry & Chemical Technology graduate and qualified plumber. Both of us are qualified energy advisers and have worked within the renewables and energy saving sector at one time or another. We are therefore ideally qualified to present the impression that we know what we are doing. Even if we generally don't.
